A No. All compression and conversion happens inside your browser. Images are never transmitted over the network or stored on a server.
Q Does lowering quality hurt the image much?
A Quality 0.7–0.8 is usually plenty for social media or web uploads while significantly reducing file size. Preview the result to check.
